Rental Information* |
Some basics... | We require a 50% deposit to hold the rental. Full rent must be paid and cleared before you arrive. In addition, there is a security deposit required on all rentals. | |||||||
| We have provisioned the unit with sheets and towels. There is a clothes washer in the basement for your use while you are there. Upon departure, the unit should be reasonably clean, with dishes in the sink or dishwasher. | |||||||||
| The property managers (Fred and Renee) live in a cottage behind the property and they will be happy to help and advise. | |||||||||
| Communications | Telephone | Local telephone service is provided in common between the two units (as of February). Please be courteous about using it. You will need your own calling card for long distance service. We suggest you consider Skype if you plan for heavy traffic. | |||||||
| Cellular | Cingular is the carrier of choice on the island. We have used T-mobile and they claim that service is equivalent to the continental US when your phone roams to Cingular. Check with your carrier before you arrive. | ||||||||
| Internet | Wireless internet DSL is provided for which we have a $50/week, and $120/month surcharge. This fee underwrites the access and equipment charges -- we make nothing and are doing it for your convenience. | ||||||||
| Television | There is basic cable television and DVD in each unit. | ||||||||
| Honeymoon Package | Between July 15th and November 15th, we have a honeymoon special that reserves the entire house for your private use. We will be happy to try to store a frozen slice of your wedding cake for your 1st aniversary return, but it may not last the summer! | ||||||||
| Tourism and getting around | The house is up a hill that is a healthy walk from town below. For more than a trip to the local restaurant and store, you will want a car. We suggest renting from the agencies in Cruz Bay. The house is about 30 minutes from the ferry dock by car. | ||||||||
| Most beaches, restaurants and shopping are easily reachable by car. There are good restaurants in and near Coral Bay, and a great crafts shop halfway between home and Cruz Bay. Fred, the propery manager, can arrange a sunset or afternoon cruise on his boat Pepper. | |||||||||
| The National Park has a visitor's center in Cruz Bay that you will see when you land on the ferry. The island has some great hikes and hidden spots that are well worth including in your plans. | |||||||||
